Valentines Day

When i was a kid, on this day my mom gave us gifts on this special day. It was a way to let each other feel the love we have for each other. To this day, this tradition is still very much alive.

This is Skid's gift to his Dada and Nana. They love gardening. :)

This is my gift from hubby.

And this is my gift to hubby. brothers and other family members who love their chocolates sweets!

and this is a V Day project of Skid. It's 2 necklaces made of nylon, drinking straws and cut rubber hearts. One for Mom and one for Dad held together by a stapled note. I LOVE IT! and i think Dad loves it too!!!

34 months and counting...

We celebrate Skid's age every month. He's now 34 months :) Hubby and I feel blessed that he has a cheery, friendly disposition. We love his SMILE! He loves having and picture taken and would include everyone in it. This is one of his favorite "Kodak" poses; this time with Mom and Ate Lyn.

His birthay "cake" was an ensaymada which he shared with Dad. He now knows how to blow his birthday candles :))

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OUR DEAR BABY! <3 <3 <3

i love Fun-days!

this was taken on our regular Family Fun-day. The reason we're wearing red was because our baby "ruled" it. That morning, he told Dad to change from a blue to red shirt because he was wearing one.
Skid addressing Hubby: Dad, suot mo red! (Dad, you wear red!)
Skid addressing Me: 'Kaw din Mom! (You too Mom!)

I have to say, Skid is right! the color looks nice and i love our smiles...

LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR NEXT FUN-DAY!!! <3 <3 <3

25 years and beyond...a high school reunion

Thanks to the power of technology, in 2005 i was reconnected with a couple of high school buddies. Over the years, we will meet, have coffee moments, food trip, celebrate "occasions" in our lives like a big 4-0, birthdays, weddings, etc.

But the year 2012 is special. Twenty five 25 years since we graduated from our alma mater Canossa Sta. Rosa.

Over the past few months, emails and PMs were sent back and forth to communicate with classmates based out of town and abroad. not to mention our coffee-planning sessions :)

All the planning was 2-part. One is our silver gathering at Vivere Suites Alabang last December 1, 2012. A couple of classmates based abroad went home for the affair. Thirty three attendees for a class of 150++ (not a bad turnout!)

Part two was a homecoming to the new site of Canossa. It was great to see old familiar faces of teachers and "sisters". Hairs on my arms stood on end when we sang the Canossa Hymn. I realized i still know the tune by heart after leaving my school 25 years ago.

Thank you Canossa for making me what i am today. For molding my character for ten tender years of my life <3 <3 <3

Coke lighting ceremony 2012

Been awhile since i've updated this blog but it doesn't mean that the past season has been lame. lots of things have happened. will try to recapture them all :)

For a second year, hubby and i together with some fellow Coke collectors went to the annual Araneta Coca-cola tree lighting ceremony last November 9, 2012. VIP passes only, but we were "celebrities" so we got a free pass :D

Prominent guests include Coca-cola Export VIPs (minus their president), reigning Bb. Pilipinas beauties and GMA/ABS-CBN talents.

Also had an "ambush" picture taken with the president of happiness, "Caloy".

Coca-cola Company is celebrating its 100 years in the Philippines with "open happiness" as its theme. So there was a Coca-cola truck which gives Coca-cola freebies (1.75li packs, tshirts, glasses, cupcakes etc.) at the touch of a button.

We caught the Coca-cola roving "fun" bus and hubby and I had some souvenir pictures

Coca-cola balls adorn the 100-feet high tree. Would love to have at least one to add to our collection. It's the size of my head and made of light-weight fiber glass. :)

This year we left prior to the actual tree lighting to avoid the rush, so no picture of the lighted tree :(

Good Eat Finds

Some of the great food we discovered in the most unlikely places this past month

fresh Futomaki the size of your palm from Ippon Yari Japanese Restaurant, Sta. Rosa, Laguna

Spicy chicken curry paired with freshly made corn tortillas from Bistro Mediteranean, San Pablo City

fluffly cheesy ensaymada from The Purple Oven, Solenad 2 Nuvali, Sta. Rosa Laguna

These goodies are all so yummy, i promise!

Happy anniversary to my boyfriend...

Gone are the days that we could and would celebrate on our own. For our 20th BF/GF anniversary, it was a family affair.

Us with our chaperone

the chaperone doodling while waiting for the food to be served

the boyfriend and girlfriend

This year is more memorable since hubby and i are celebrating our big 2-0, so instead of buying a gift, i made a bucket list of the things i want to do with him for the next "20" :)

- Go for a leisurely walk in windy Batanes or Tagaytay
- Get muddy while vegetable picking in Silang or Tagaytay
- Be adveNturous and Try a new eating place every Once in while
- Spend hours poring the shelves of a bookstore, whether it be Powerbooks and/or Booksale
- Make tambay at Starbucks while i have my coffee and you browse the magazines and newspapers
- Hold hands while watching the sunset at Manila Bay
- Recapture the places we’ve been the past 20 years with Skid
- Go on a road trip while playing our favourite songs in the background (don’t forget ‘I love you more Today than Yesterday’ and ‘You are My Sunshine’)
- Make a contest of catching and finding the next Coke item to add to our collection
- Do everything all over again....

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY BOYFRIEND OF 20 YEARS <3 <3 <3
